7Factor Software Named One of Atlanta’s Best Places to Work

Awards for our work are great. While we don’t necessarily actively chase them, being recognized for the high-quality work our talented team does is always nice.

However, we’re exceedingly proud of our most recent recognition — being included in Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2020 list of the Best Places to Work.

When our fearless founder, Jeremy Duvall, started 7Factor in 2017, he had a clear vision of what he wanted the culture to be. Having spent time in the corporate world, he learned what he liked and didn’t like.

He was committed to building a smart, flexible, human-centric team of experienced software architects, engineers, and developers who obsess about quality and will give clients honest, expert advice. And who are simply good humans.

“Winning this award is a testament to our company’s culture and how hard we work to preserve it,” Jeremy says. “I am extremely proud to have a workplace that is psychologically safe, performance driven, and where team members focus on the greater good of our clients over individual execution.”

There is no hustle culture at 7Factor. Work-life balance is baked in—it is strongly suggested and expected that no one works more than 40 hours/week, and other than the core hours of 9:30 a.m – 3:30 p.m. when teammates need to be available, everyone gets their work done at their most productive times. Respect, empathy, a hunger to learn, and kind candor—both with each other and clients—are core tenets of the 7Factor culture.

“We have a good culture,” Jeremy says. “That’s one of the big reasons why people stay and why we’re successful. It’s not a toxic culture here, like you can find at so many companies. We have a human-centric culture, a culture of quality and grace.

“I’m very proud of the team that we’ve built. Trusting them and giving them the latitude they need is what’s going to keep this company going.”

To us, software engineering is an art and a competency that needs to be practiced and perfected. It’s not just about speed and revenue. We all seek to advance the body of computer science through world-class, standard-setting work. At the end of the day, we’re building software for humans.

So, it’s simple, really. Hire good people. Let them build good things.

Thank you to the entire 7Factor team! This award is for all of us!
